Canoe U 2012
This is our annual collection of whitewater canoe and kayak classes. For 2012 classes are the weekends of May 21-22 and June 4-5. We offer training in basic and intermediate whitewater paddling. Whether you canoe or kayak, have never been in a boat or have paddled for years there is something for everyone.Registration for 2012 will be open soon! Canoe U Information
Winter Pool Sessions 2011 - 2012
Winter is the perfect time to improve existing skills, and learn new skills and concepts. This year, we offer several opportunities for skill development. Cost is $10 per session or $130 for the season. The cost for Rapids Riders to rent the pool is $140 a session. The club usually breaks even or is behind by the end of the year. Pool dates are on the events page.Open Pool — Two hours of unstructured time to get more comfortable in your boat, work on your roll, try new tricks in a warm pool, or just sit and talk (it's your time). Informal help and tips often available from other paddlers, just ask. Bring your own boat and gear.Kayak Skill — Learn skills, concepts, and get a paddling workout in Minnesota in the middle of the winter! Four structured skill sessions for people who already know how to paddle. Paddlers of ALL skill levels can learn from these sessions. Bring your boat and paddling gear (including helmet). If a limited number of people show for the skills session we will open a section of the pool for open kayaking.

Canoe and Kayak Rolling — You don't need a roll to paddle a boat, but it sure makes it a lot more fun and safe. Learn to roll your canoe or kayak. For paddlers with no roll, those who would like to improve their roll, or if you want to add an off-side roll. Low student to instructor ratio. Bring your boat and paddling gear (including helmet). Nose plugs highly recommended. $10 each session.
